Yazmin’s specialties lie in both search engine optimization and design. Before coming to Cobalt Digital Marketing, Yazmin started her design career with a position as a Graphic Design Manager at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Office for Sustainability. She joined our team in early 2024 as a Graphic Design Manager and SEO Coordinator. She contributes excellent work as our design lead and member of the SEO team, working to maximize our clients’ potential online.
Yazmin was born in Matamoros Mexico. She attended college at UTRGV, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and a Master's degree in English. During her time in college, Yazmin met her now-husband, who is actually from the same city, with her family and friends knowing his. In a similar coincidence, while living in Pennsylvania, she went on to get a job at Cobalt Digital Marketing, a company founded and based just minutes away from her hometown.
When not working hard to optimize our content for search engines, Yazmin spends her time as a craft supplies collector and creator. She enjoys crocheting, embroidering, sewing, drawing, working with clay, and gardening. In addition to her creative hobbies, Yazmin also enjoys reading: romantic comedies are a favorite, but she’s recently been getting more into historical fiction and nonfiction books, particularly those surrounding Mexican-American history. She also loves to spend time with her dog, Sebastian.
“I enjoy digital marketing because I like that my designs can be found in everyday life. Websites, social media ads, and even the videos you skip on YouTube. I feel like an anonymous creator of a meme everyone knows.
As part of the graphic design team, I’m most passionate about the design part of digital marketing. As long as I can remember, I have liked the visual arts. I feel fulfilled when I look at a final product. Creating art relaxes me, whether physical or digital, taking the time to create something gives me a feeling of accomplishment.”
“A colleague and friend from a previous job knew I was looking for a position after I finished my master's. He put me in contact with Cobalt to be a graphic designer. I started as part of the SEO team, since I know how it works. With time, the team found out more and more about my design skills, so they put me in charge of it. Both skills complement each other.
